Summer Berry Oatmeal Bowl


Here we are in the dog days of summer and boy is it HOT!  But one of my favorite breakfast treats is still a good ole bowl of oatmeal.  I know, I know you’re thinking oatmeal but it’s hot out.  well, you can still eat it warm or even cool and it still tastes great. Here’s to early morning risers and the start of a beautiful day.


This is such a quick simple treat that it works for breakfast or a wholesome snack. And it looks good enough to be dessert!

  • 1/4 cup quick oats
  • 1/2 cup water
  • pinch of salt

Place in a bowl that can hold at least 2 cups microwave for 1 1/2 to 2 minutes. Remove from microwave a cool for a few minutes for hot oatmeal or cool completely for cold.


  • 1/4 cup strawberries
  • 1/4 cup blueberries
  • 1/4 cup blackberries
  • 1/4 cup raspberries

Rinse all berries, slice strawberries and let berries dry on a paper towel while oatmeal cooks.

  • Sliced Almonds
  • Whipped cream
  • 1 tablespoon pure maple syrup

Place berries on top of the oatmeal top with whipped cream and almonds, drizzle with maple syrup.


Don’t forget to slow down and savor every bite while you enjoy your morning start.

This serves one but can be doubled or tripled or quadrupled if everyone sees it and must have a bowl.
