Good Ole Chocolate Chip Cookies


Sometime you just want simple good ole chocolate chip cookies.  No frills or extras so that what these are. But the buttery simple wonderfulness of them baking is intoxicating and before they can even cool on the baking sheet you must have one…dsc_4270

So if you are drooling about now it’s a good thing these are fairly quick and easy to whip up.

What you will need and how much:

Preheat the oven to 350°F

Large mixing bowl or bowl of a stand mixer

Cookie sheets  with silpat pads or buttered or sprayed with oil

  • 2 stick of butter at room temperature
  • 3/4 cup dark brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 – 12 ounce package of dark chocolate chips or milk chocolate if you prefer

What to do:

In the bowl of a mixer add butter and sugar to the bowl and mix until creamy and fluffy.  Add the egg one at a time now add vanilla on low speed blending well.  Add the flour, baking soda and salt pulse on low until lightly mix then on medium speed to blend well. Scrape the beater blade down and stir in chips.

Using a 2 tablespoon scoop place balls of dough 2 inches apart on baking sheet bake for 8 to 12 minutes or until lightly browned and center of cookie is set.  Cool for 5 minutes on cookie sheets then place cookies on cooling rack until completely cooled.  These cookie will keep for about 10 days if they last that long. At my house this never happens by about day 3 there are none left…


Since spring hasn’t arrived so you know you need a cookie…
