Pill Pockets for your Furry Babies

Peanut Butter Pill Pockets

I your furry babies have to take medication and you ever bought the little pill pockets then you will love the much cheaper version.  with only 4 ingredients you’ll also know what’s there made of.

  • 1 cup brown rice flour
  • 1 cup tapioca flour
  • 2 tablespoons coconut shortening or oil at room temp.
  • 1/2 cup natural peanut butter

Place in a large bowl and blend well with your hands or a mixer.  You want to knead this dough and then shape it. Roll into a long rope about 1 inch thick and slice into half inch pieces.  Use extra tapioca flour to roll or if the mix is a little to wet. Using a chop stick make a whole in each piece and store at room temperature for about 1 month or longer in the refrigerator I’m happy to report I have been testing the shelf life of these and they have held up great for more than 2 months!  My kitchen has been on the cool side but even with a few days in the 70’s they held up and the best part is no molding or color changes.  So needless to say I’m pretty happy with the results.

Hope your pups enjoy them,
